Top 5 Communication Apps in Ukraine: Q1 2022 Performance

In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 communication apps in Ukraine demonstrated notable performance metrics across downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Telegram saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 132K at the beginning of January and peaking at approximately 300K in the last week of February. Weekly active users also grew steadily, rising from 13.6M to around 14.2M by the end of March.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained strong download numbers, starting the quarter with roughly 68K weekly downloads and reaching a peak of about 132K in early March. Active users, however, showed a slight decline from 2M to around 1.8M throughout the quarter.

Opera browser with AI experienced fluctuating download numbers, beginning at 33K and peaking at nearly 79K in early March before dropping to around 45K by the end of the quarter. Active users increased from 1.3M to over 1.5M during the same period.

Getcontact saw a decline in weekly downloads from around 100K at the beginning of January to about 23K by the end of March. Despite this, the app's weekly revenue showed a peak of approximately $44K in early February. Active users decreased from 1.6M to roughly 1.2M over the quarter.

Signal Private Messenger experienced a dramatic surge in downloads, spiking from around 6K in January to nearly 276K in late February. Active users mirrored this trend, increasing from 97K to about 240K during the same timeframe.
